Urgent warning to Humanity from the Kogi Mamos

The Kogi Mamos are spiritual leaders and shamans of the Kogi people, an indigenous group from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta region in Colombia. They are believed to possess deep spiritual and ecological knowledge passed down through generations.

Their warning to humanity revolves around the idea of balance and harmony with nature. They believe that human actions are disrupting the natural order and causing ecological imbalances that threaten the planet's well-being. They advocate for respecting and protecting the environment, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all living beings and the importance of living in harmony with the Earth.

Their message serves as a reminder of the urgent need for environmental stewardship and sustainable living practices to ensure the well-being of future generations and the preservation of the planet's ecosystems.

The Kogi Mamos resorted to producing two documentary films to warn humanity about changing its destructive ways. They had to produce their 2nd documentary, since humanity did not listen to their first warning they gave in their first documentary.

"The Heart of the World: Elder Brother's Warning" (1990)

Directed by Alan Ereira, this documentary provides insight into the Kogi people's way of life, spirituality, and their warning to humanity about the environmental destruction caused by modern civilization. The film explores the Kogi's belief in the interconnectedness of all life and their message of the need for humans to live in harmony with nature.

"Aluna" (2012)

Also directed by Alan Ereira, "Aluna" follows up on the themes introduced in "The Heart of the World." The film delves deeper into the Kogi worldview and their concerns about environmental degradation. It explores their spiritual connection to the Earth and their efforts to communicate their message to the outside world in the face of increasing ecological crises.
